NPS School
New Public School is a dream project of a noble lady, the Late S.H. Singh who made it a real success story. She has built a great temple of Education and learning with her passion, enthusiasm and unrelenting hard work. The School strives to help the students grow taller amongst the community by sheer strength of knowledge and character acquired through Aspiration, Inspiration and Perspiration which all put together is also the motto of the school. The main objective being to develop the overall personality of the student; so active participation in co-curricular activities at the State and the National Level forms a significant part of the school curriculum. In the sports arena the School has been achieving distinction year after year. Table tennis was introduced in the School in 1994 and our team bagged the Inter School Championship in the same year. Basketball was taken up in 1997 and today we can boast of having the best teams in both Boys and Girls categories. We introduced Football in the year 2003 and have been State Level Champions ever since. The School has produced five Football and one Basketball players who have represented India at the International Level. In the year 2004 we adopted Hockey and our Girls won the Chandigarh Women Championship in the very same year. We feel privileged having produced State and National Level players. We conduct three major Basketball tournaments to promote Basketball in the City, namely “Rao Jai Singh Memorial Inter-School Basketball Tournament” in memory of the Late Rao Jai Singh, a member of the School Governing Body and “Shanta H. Singh Memorial Basketball Tournament” in memory of the founder Principal Late S.H. Singh and “Col. Balraj Singh Sub Junior State Championship, in memory of the President of the School Managing Committee. The sole objective of the School is to provide quality education. This is accentuated by the fact that it is permanently affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi since May 1, 1983 and was upgraded to Senior Secondary level (+2) in 1990. The School has well equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. A well-stocked library is at the disposal of the teachers and students.
